reconciliation action plan

A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) program provides a framework for organisations to support the national reconciliation movement. A RAP is a strategic document that supports an organisation’s business plan. It includes practical actions that will drive an organisation’s contribution to reconciliation both internally and in the communities in which it operates.
The RAP Program contributes to advancing the five dimensions of reconciliation by supporting organisations to develop respectful relationships and create meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Each of the four RAP types (Reflect, Innovate, Stretch, Elevate) set out the minimum elements required from an organisation to build strong relationships, respect and opportunities within an organisation and community
MEYM acknowledges the importance of the inclusion of Indigenous culture into the curriculums and programs developed by all our Kindergarten services. While this is guided by the National Quality Framework we recognise that an additional document such as a RAP will support us in ensuring that the organisation is committed to the representation of indigenous culture in our everyday work.
MEYM has developed a Reconciliation Action Plan in consultation with the Board staff and families. The RAP documents our commitment to representing indigenous culture and to ensure we are responsive to any innovations, challenges and ideas that are presented to us.
The RAP was endorsed by the MEYM Board on 22 November 2022.
